In addition to its extensive range of highly technical acoustic products for underwater applications, Applied Acoustics also has a specialist engineering division dedicated to particular challenges requiring specialist products or modifications. Recent products which have been successfully developed include a solar powered seismic sound source for use on multi-year ice and a combined positioning transponder/altimeter for a free-swimming Seaglider used in oceanographic scientific deployments.

Applied Acoustics has a 6000 metre rated pressure testing facility which is available for hire. Built new in 2009, the chamber has an internal diameter of 340mm with a useable length of 1500mm.
